My journey to establishing Indigo was shaped by a deeply personal challenge: a critical medical diagnosis amidst the global upheaval of a pandemic. This was further complicated by a common hurdle for many new employees—the 90-day wait for health benefits to kick in. Despite my willingness to pay for private insurance, because of my diagnosis the doors were consistently closed, a frustrating experience highlighting the systemic flaws in access to essential services.
